Ideally, advertisers want to have the full attention of their audience. Unfortunately for them, this task is nearly impossible to achieve. However, when waiting in line for a concert, sporting event, amusement park ride, or any other attraction, a boredom-stricken consumer’s eyes will often seek out any sort of stimulation possible to help pass the time. McDonald’s, the world’s largest and most profitable fast food restaurant, took advantage of this situation when it decided to place barrier jacket advertisements on Blockader barricades. These bright, attractive, and attention-grabbing jackets were impossible for any patron waiting in line to miss. After seeing a series of McDonald’s advertisements throughout the duration of their time in line, it’s safe to bet that those consumers are starting to get hungry.
